- Create a profile on job portals and upload your CV to make it easier for employers and recruiters to find you.
- Check company websites for vacancies in the “Work with us” or “Careers” section.
- Register with recruitment agencies that operate in Sweden.
- Use LinkedIn actively and keep your profile updated. LinkedIn and Facebook are widely used for recruitment in Sweden, especially within business, marketing, communications and media.
- Follow companies and industries that interest you to stay informed about recruitment and new job opportunities.
- Use your network. Friends, family, former colleagues and other contacts may help you find job opportunities or connect you with employers in Sweden.
- Send unsolicited applications (“spontanansökan”) to companies you would like to work for, preferably directly to the relevant manager instead of a general company email address.
- In some industries, especially customer-facing roles, it can also help to visit workplaces in person with your CV and cover letter.

Check if you need a work permit
Citizens of Nordic countries, including Denmark, can work in Sweden without a work permit. The same applies to citizens of EU/EEA countries who meet the relevant requirements.
If you are a citizen of a non-EU country, you must apply for a work permit before you start working in Sweden. This also applies if you have a Danish work or residence permit.
