* In Denmark, Constitution Day (5 June) and International Workers' Day (1 May) are not official public holidays. However, many employees have a half or full day off, and some shops may be closed.
** In Sweden, Midsummer Eve (25 June) is not an official public holiday. However, many workplaces and shops are closed or have reduced opening hours, and most people take the day off if possible.
*** In both Denmark and Sweden, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are not official public holidays. However, many workplaces allow employees to take these days off without loss of pay.
