How occupational pension works

When you start working in Sweden, it is a good idea to familiarise yourself with the pension agreements that apply at your workplace.

Occupational pension, tjänstepension, is based on collective agreements between labour market partners. These agreements mean that your employer pays part of your salary into a pension scheme.

Your employer is responsible for setting up your occupational pension. In some cases, you can choose which insurance company manages your pension savings.

If you have worked in different sectors or for different employers, you may have more than one occupational pension.
